Raising the Bar: A Commitment to Meaningful Education
The April 2007 GAO Report, Title Insurance: Actions Needed to Improve Oversight of the Title Industry and Better Protect Consumers, included a recommendation for state regulators to strengthen regulation of title agents by establishing meaningful requirements for capitalization, licensing, and continuing education. To that end, The Koogler Group supports the efforts of state regulators, encouraging them to “raise the bar” on the quality of prelicensing education and strengthen the components of state licensing exams.
State Licensing and Industry Certification-Level Programs
The Koogler Group continues its outreach to state regulators and state land title associations that share our commitment to meaningful industry education.
Rather than reinventing the wheel, we invite state land title associations interested in offering industry certification-level programs to collaborate with us in creating online programs for closing agents and title examiners based, respectively, on our Multi-State Study Manual for Closing Agents and Multi-State Study Manual for Title Examiners. We currently offer self-study programs based on both textbooks as well as Secured Protocol Online Examinations for individual closing agent and title examiners who wish to pursue task-specific certification-level training.
