An Invitation to Actively Support Industry Education

As always, we welcome partnership with and/or sponsorship by title insurers, state land title associations, and national vendors interested in bringing in-depth educational programming to their respective agents, members, and customers.

Focus on In-Depth Education

The Koogler Group is actively focused on The Domino Effect issues from an educational perspective – e.g., ‘Alt-Ven’ (AOL) providers and products; Fannie Mae’s ‘Title Acceptance Pilot’ initiative; and CFPB focus on lender-controlled ‘Guaranteed-Price Settlement Packages’ – as well as industry-adjacent issues involving Consumer Protection: Combatting Seller-Impersonation Fraud; and Professional Ethics, Fiduciary Duty, and Regulatory Compliance in an Era of AI, LLM, and All-Things-GPT; among others.

Our focus is not to parrot information provided by industry publications including ALTA Title News (free to ALTA members) or the many excellent publications provided through October Research.

It is also not our intention to reinvent the wheel regarding ALTA’s advocacy efforts relating to numerous issues currently impacting the title insurance industry. We are the first to acknowledge ALTA’s stated position as the “national trade association and ‘voice’ of title insurance agents, abstracters, and underwriters.” [https://www.alta.org/about/]

What we do provide is in-depth industry education – not simply through our various programs and products but, also, from Karen’s self-funded advocacy-through-education consultancy work. Her primary focus on Consumer protection automatically positions her as a staunch advocate for the rights of small (micro) businesses to remain in business. It is vitally important that Consumers have an unfettered right to choose the real estate, mortgage lending, and title (settlement) providers with whom they do business. Should the overall settlement services industry be reduced to a handful of national realtors, lenders, and title insurers – or should one provider group (e.g., lenders) be placed in control of another (title-settlement) – consumer choice would be nothing more than an illusion.

New! Industry Vendor and Insurer Advertising Program

The Koogler Group is actively seeking support from industry vendors and title insurers as we significantly expand The Domino Effects programs and products. This will help support Karen’s advocacy-through-education efforts which includes attending numerous industry and regulatory events, providing detailed educational memos for state and federal regulators, and responding to regulatory requests for additional information and educational presentations. As to the latter, for the past decade, Karen has self-funded hundreds of hours of pro bono educational consultancy projects to the tune of $100K or more per year.

This is the first time in her nearly 50-year career that Karen has even considered the possibility of balancing education with commerce. Therefore, she wants to ensure that any type of advertising program The Koogler Group engages in is a ‘win-win’ for all concerned.
